Leadership

Born on 07 December 1963, Nissanka Senadhipathi received his initial education at Isipathana College, Colombo, a prestigious educational institute in Sri Lanka, and decided on a career in the Sri Lanka Army. He joined the Sri Lanka Army in 1985, and was commissioned in 1986 on being graduating from the Pakistan Military Academy as the first  direct enlisted officer to the Sri Lanka Army Commando Regiment. He subsequently qualified as a paratrooper. During a career spanning twelve years in the Sri Lanka Army, he held  important appointments of Officer Instructor – Military Academy, Chief Instructor – Military  Sniper Training School, Brigade Major – Air Mobile Brigade and Chief Security Officer – Ministry of Defence and Sri Lanka Army Headquarters at the height of LTTE terrorism.

He was also a member of the elite “Anti-Hijack and Hostage Release Unit” of the Commando  Regiment and was appointed as the Commander of the anti-hijacking team of Bandaranayaka International Airport in Colombo.

His capability, dedication and display of a high degree of “role morality” whilst in the Commando Regiment was duly recognized when he was selected to serve as the Personal Bodyguard to Mr D.B Wijethunga, His Excellency the  President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

Consequent to the Indo-Sri Lanka pact in 1987, Major Nissanka Senadhipathi had the  distinction of serving as the Personal Bodyguard to Lt. Gen. A.S. Kalkut, Commander of the  Indian Peace Keeping Force, during his tenure of command. After a distinguished career in the Sri Lanka Army, Nissanka Senadhipathi retired from military service in 1996 and immediately started business in the private sector in Sri Lanka.

He started Avant Garde Security Services (PVT) Ltd immediately and after establishing himself in the industry, consolidated the business purely through perseverance, professionalism, attention to detail and commitment. The business expanded to such an extent that Avant Garde Security Services quickly rose to prominence to become the largest security company in Sri Lanka. The company presently employs over 4500 security personnel deployed all over Sri Lanka.

Above all, Nissanka Senadhipathi  is recognised for his honour, valour, reliability, and thoroughness, and these attributes has prompted many leading institutions to depend on him for complete security solutions.

Consequently, Nissanka Senadhipathi incorporated Avant Garde Maritime Services  (PVT) Ltd (AGMS) in 2011. In order to specifically address the scourge of sea piracy,  and within the short span of two years became a major international player in the  market, and then, going on to become the market leader in the industry.
